IVDA - Dress Code

Notes

Hair must be tied back in a bun for ballet classes
Hair must be tied back in ponytail for acro, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre & tap classes
IVDA recommends purchasing your required dance attire & shoes from a dance supply store. Flyers are available at the studio office
Competitive students must have their appropriate shoes no later than October
Grade 1-5 ballet exam students must have their character shoes & character skirts no later than December
Grade 6-8 ballet exam students must have their character shoes, character skirts & chiffon skirts no later than December
Students who take Pointe must have their pointe shoes no later than October
For shoes – the shoes listed here are generally what will be worn HOWEVER, double check with your instructor before purchasing any shoe, be sure to keep your receipt, and please bring your shoes to your instructor so they can confirm the style.
Used shoes – if you have outgrown your dance shoes, you can give them to our shoe exchange program where we will try to sell the shoes to other students who need them. Shoes should be in good condition.
