2011/2012 Dance Season Registration Info

  • Regular Registration for the 2011/2012 season:

    • September 10th from 11:00am–4:00pm

    • Registrations will still be accepted after September 10th.  Please call the studio & book an appointment to register in the upcoming weeks. 

      • NOTE: Registration for the recreational program closes on Nov. 19th

      • NOTE: Registration for the competitive program closes on Oct. 1st

Duration of Dance Season

  • Classes begin on Monday, September 12, 2011

  • Classes end on Saturday, June 9, 2012

Fees

Discounts/Packages

Payment Plans

  • September fees are due at time of registration                                                   

  • All fees are subject to 13% HST

  • All fees are payable no later than the 15th of each and every month classes are in session (with the exception of September where fees are due at time of registration & March where fees are due by March 10th)

  • Outstanding accounts will be charged interest as detailed below.

  • Ballet Exam Training fees and/or BATD Exam Training fees and/or Comp. Specialty Fees (solo/duet/trio/special groups) are not eligible for any discounts and/or packages

Pre-School Recreational Program Fees:

  • $29.00 per month per discipline (each ballet, jazz, tap class is 30-min, once a week)

  • Ages 21/2 - 4

  • Classes in ballet, jazz, tap

  • 5% discount if taking 2+ pre-school classes per week

Recreational Program Fees:

  • $37.00 per month per discipline (each acro, hip hop, jazz, tap, class is 45-min, once a week)

  • Levels: Beginner (ages 5-8), Pre-Teen (ages 9-12), Teen (ages 13+)

  • Classes in acro, hip hop, jazz, tap

  • 5% discount if taking 3+ (rec. and/or ballet) classes per week

R.A.D Ballet Program Fees:

  • 45-min classes: $37.00 per month (each pre-primary to grade 2 ballet class is 45-min, once a week)

  • 1-hr ballet classes: $41.00 per month (each grade 3 to grade 5 class is 1-hour, once a week)

  • 1-hr, 15-min class: $45.00 per month (each inter foundation to intermediate class is 1-hr & 15-min, once a week)

  • 1-hr, 30-min class: $49.00 per month (each advanced 1 to advanced 2 class is 1-hr & 30-min, once a week)

  • 5% discount if taking 3+ (rec. and/or ballet) classes per week

Discounts:

  • 10% siblings discount per child

  • 5% discount if taking 2+ pre-school classes per week

  • 5% discount if taking 3+ (rec. and/or ballet) classes per week

Competitive Program Packages:

  • Unlimited packages

  • Family packages

Costume Deposits

**NEW DATES**

  • A costume deposit is required for each class the student is registered for:

    • Recreational students

      • $75.00 deposit per costume

      • Deposit required in November 19, 2011

        • Costume deposits are non-refundable once costumes have been ordered

      • Balances due in May 19, 2012

    • Competitive students:

      • $100.00 deposit per costume

      • Deposit required in October 15, 2011

        • Costume deposits are non-refundable once costumes have been ordered

      • Balances due in February 18, 2012

Methods of Payment

  • We accept Cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Cheques

  • We will accept post-dated cheques for the entire dance season, and these cheques are due with your October payment

Late Payment Charges

  • Late fines will be applied to a dancers outstanding monthly fee once the 15th plus one scheduled dance day has passed      

  • Fees that are late are subject to the following interest:

    • up to 7 days late - 2% interest

    • 7 to 21 days late - 3.5% interest

    • 21 days late or more - 5% interest

Returned Cheques

  • A $35.00 fee will be charged for all NSF cheques

Cancellations, Withdrawals & Refunds

  • Students who wish to withdraw prior to the season start are entitled to a full refund

  • If a student wishes to withdraw from a class once the season has begun, they must inform the studio office before the 1st of the month in order to receive a partial refund

Schedule

  • The schedule available at registration is subject to change based on student enrolment and/or availability of classes/instructors. 

  • Class levels are subject to being combined and/or cancelled based on student enrolment and/or instructor availability.

  • IVDA encourages students to be well-rounded and participate in multi-disciplinary interests and great efforts are made in order to assist students and parents in planning their activities

  • In order for IVDA to maintain a high quality of dance, schedules cannot be inconsistent or changed multiple times throughout the season.

  • Instructors are assigned to classes and routines based on certification, suitability and availability sole discretion of the Studio Director.

  • The 2011/2012 schedule will be posted online in September.

Dress Code

Bring A Friend Week

**NEW DATES**

  • Bring A Friend Week is October 3 - October 8, 2011

    • All IVDA dancers are welcome to invite one friend per class to join them in a FREE CLASS during Bring A Friend Week

      • IVDA dancers will receive an invitation that they can give to a friend

      • The friend must bring the invitation to class in order to participate

Parent's Week

  • Parents week is November 7 – November 13, 2011

    • Parents are invited to come to the studio & watch their child's classes

Competitive Showcase

  • All competitive dancers will perform their routines at the competitive showcase in full costume & make-up

  • Attendance of the competitive showcase is mandatory to participate in the competitive program

Picture Day

  • A professional photographer will take pictures of all our routines

  • IVDA will have 2 picture days: 1 for the competitive team & 1 for the recreational team

  • Dates will fall between May 25, 2012 & June 17, 2012

Dress Rehearsal

  • All recreational & competitive routines will rehearse their routines at our dress rehearsal.

Recital

  • All recreational & competitive routines will perform at our annual year-end recital.  The majority of dancers perform in both shows.  Each routine is performed only once

Holidays

  • The studio will be closed and all classes will be cancelled on the following days:

    • Thanksgiving - Monday, October 10, 2011

    • Winter Holidays - Friday, December 23, 2011 to Friday, January 6, 2011

    • March Break - Monday, March 12, 2012 - Sunday, March 18, 2012

    • Good Friday - Friday, April 6, 2012

    • Victoria Day - Monday, May 21, 2012

Studio Closures

  • Inclement Weather
    • In the event of inclement weather, call the studio approximately 1 hour before scheduled class times for a recorded message regarding class cancellations.  Efforts will be made to post cancellations online as well.
  • Other Reasons
    • Should the studio need to close for any other unforeseen reason besides inclement weather, you will be notified directly.

  • If you are interested in purchasing any IVDA merchandise, please fill out the order form & hand it in to the studio office.

    • Be sure to use the descriptions, pictures, pricing & sizing forms when filling out your order form. 

    • Please note that all merchandise is custom designed & tailored.  Therefore, there are no refunds or exchanges.

    • Please note that a 50% deposit is required with your returned form.  The remaining balance is payable when you pick-up your merchandise.

    • Please note that to keep our pricing competitive & as stated, our suppliers ask that we place bulk orders.  If orders are received late, an additional set-up of fee of $5.00 may be applied to your order.

    • Discounts are available on clothing orders only that are over $150.  Please see Order Form for detailed discount info.

  • The delivery time is between 4-8 weeks.

  • Fall Orders:

    • Please have orders in by October 15, 2011.  This order due date should allow for delivery before the winter holidays.

  • Spring Orders:

    • Please have orders in by March 3, 2012.  This order due date should allow for delivery before the seasons' end.
